Delete your ADVANCE account
This page describes how to delete your account and what happens when you do. It applies to the ADVANCE app and the web version alike.
1. Delete it yourself (immediate)
- Sign in to ADVANCE (the app or the web version).
- Open Profile, then the Settings tab, and choose Delete account. If you have not yet joined a department, the same option is on the Join Your Station screen.
- Read what will be deleted and what your department keeps, enter your current password, and confirm.
Your account and the personal data listed below are deleted from our live database at once, every signed-in session is ended, and you are returned to the sign-in screen. Copies in our daily database backups and in the database’s recovery history are removed after 30 days, and request logs after seven days. This cannot be undone.
2. If you cannot sign in
Email andrew@advancece.app from the email address on your account and ask for the account to be deleted. We may confirm the request with you at that address before acting on it. We complete a deletion requested this way within 30 days.
3. What is deleted
- Your profile and sign-in (name, email, password, two-factor setup and recovery codes, sessions)
- Your study history, assessment attempts and scores, review history, progress, and the badges and certifications recorded in ADVANCE
- Your notifications, roster placement, program assignments, access permissions, course evaluations and Signal usage records
- The sign-in and security events recorded under your account
4. What is kept, and why
- Your department’s own training records: a signed training-event roster or a recorded continuing-education award that names you as a participant is your department’s record and is retained by the department. Such a record can include your name, rank, unit, station and shift, the hours and result recorded for you, any certificate issued, and — if you signed it — your signature with the network address and device identifier recorded when you signed.
- Security records: records that are not stored under your account are kept as security records, currently with no fixed expiry: sign-in, registration or password-reset attempts that were blocked or could not be matched to an account (with the email address entered, the network address and the device identifier), audit entries for permission and access changes that involved your account, and the record of any invitation sent to your email address.
- Copies outside our live database: our daily backups and the database’s recovery history are removed after 30 days, and request logs after seven days. Files that you or your department downloaded or exported (such as reports, certificates or spreadsheets), emails we already sent you, and anything stored on another device you used are outside our systems and are not changed by the deletion.
- Our speech and language-model providers keep what they already received only as described in Section 3 of the Privacy Policy.
- Anything else only where retention is required by law.
Details are in the Privacy Policy, Sections 5 and 8.
